ERIC GRIGSBY, MD, MBA
Dr. Eric Grigsby enjoys a national reputation for excellence in the field of Pain Management. He has a background as a researcher, teacher and clinician, and brings over 25 years of clinical experience to the Napa Pain Institute, and its sister practices The Spine and Pain Center of Kauai, and the new Redwood Pain Institute.
After graduating from Boston University Medical School in 1984, Dr. Grigsby trained in General Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Pain Management at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was then invited to join the Medical Staff and teach at the Mayo Medical School until moving to California in 1989. The Dean of the University of California at Davis Medical Center then invited Dr. Grigsby to establish their first Pain Management Center, where he served as Medical Director until 1992. Following his post at UC Davis, Dr. Grigsby established a small clinic that grew into the Napa Pain Institute of today. Now, he and his staff of over 25 professionals consult with patients from throughout Northern California and the western United States, and now Kauai and the Hawaiian Islands.
Dr. Grigsby speaks nationally on topics such as neuromodulation, the non-operative treatment of spinal disorders, the safe use of medications for treatment of pain, and the legal and regulatory issues relating to proper treatment of patients with chronic illness, among other topics. He also leads his own conferences on pain medicine, including the Napa Pain Conference and the Kauai Pain Conference.
RAMESH M. SINGA, MD, MHS
Ramesh Singa, MD, MHS was born in Chicago. He earned degrees in biomedical engineering and public health from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. He then returned to Chicago for medical training from Rush Medical College. Dr. Singa trained in general surgery at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago, completed his anesthesiology residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey and his medicine fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, where he was trained by world leaders in the latest techniques for almost all pain disorders.
Dr. Singa’s interest in pain management began during his anesthesia residency, where he witnessed pain patients flourish under his mentor’s specialized care. He continues to utilize best practice procedural interventions in his practice and also recognizes the importance of compassion, commitment, and composure to help his patients more completely and more rapidly achieve their pain management goals.
